Rurouni Kenshin

Today I stopped by our local Manga and Anime store to check if they had the 8th volume of xxxHolic yet, and they didn't. So I wandered around the store for an hour or two until I realized that I had no clue what to buy, and I really wanted to read a manga.

One of the employees there noticed my confusion and asked if she could help me, so I told her to reccomend me a manga, any manga. Another person walked by because she was looking perplexed as she tried to think of a good one, and reccommended Fullmetal Alchemist, Fruits basket, Fushigi yugi and Rurouni Kenshin, to which I basically replied "Read, Read, sorta-read, wanted to read, i'll go with the Kenshin, Thanks!"

Then I went nextdoor and bought two ramune sodas and a box of crushed pocky. For you see, The local manga store is next door to a japanese store, which is owned by the family of one of my dad's old friends, clearly as a mark of Hitsuzen.

And now I am off to pay mom for a manga and anime convention ticket i owe her money for.

Ja ne!

December 4-5: Clow Cards and Pocky

Now that Kisa-chan has posted her Introduction, I can begin with our tales.

Now, there is an Anime convention in febuary, we have both decided that we are going as Sakura, except... I am Sakura-hime, and Kisa-chan is Kinomoto Sakura.

So we plotted a sleepover in order to begin the costume making process. But first, we loaded up on several types of pocky and stayed up late watching the Cardcaptor Sakura movies. Meeting several people that we knew, but they all turned out to know eachother, and we commented on the hitsuzen.

And we got really, really, hyper. Kisa-chan's brother was watching the movies with us, and was equally hyper, and every time a character with long black hair appeared, we would all end up hyperly shouting, "It's Yûko-san!"

This lack of sanity was due, in no small part, to the couple boxes of normal pocky, the box of pizza pocky, the box of mens pocky (To which both me and Kisa-chan protested the name of), and the box of the super awesome crushed chocolate pocky.

So, when the movie was over, we all (Including Kisa-chan's brother) sang along to the song at the end. And then we attempted to figure out the names of every clow card in the anime.

Then we watched movie 2, where, being drunk on sugar, Kisa-chan's brother declared that the mailbox and bridge's disappearance was not the work of the void card, but rather of the stump card, and that the nameless card was really the backback card.

And that was when I realized it... At the amusement park, Syaoran-kun doesn't blush even once from that point until the end of the movie. And so, being hyper, I declared that the Void card stole Syaoran-kun's blush.

At the end of the movie, we sat there giggling hysterically at nothing until we got tired enough to fall asleep.

And that, my friends, is why you should NEVER get us hyper.

The next day was tuesday, we bought the supplies for our costumes at the nearby hobby lobby, where after Kisa-chan's brother ran around with the cart, I told him not to break anything. Then, as we were paying, he walked by something, which suddenly fell down and broke... and Kisa-chan said, "Words can be used to bind other people too."

Yûko-san was right, as always.

Michiyo

Hi, This is my introductary post, if Kisa-chan accepts, hers will follow soon.

Call me Michiyo, it's not my real name, but it's what the japanese name generator gave me, and I think it sounds pretty. My height is 5 ft 2 at the time of this post, which I am very annoyed to say is one inch shorter than Edward Elric of Fullmetal Alchemist.

I'm a homeschooled teenager, though I spent the seventh grade in school. I study Japanese and art in my spare time, and am thinking of taking martial arts, though I may not ever get around to it.

I suppose I am on the borderline of tomboy and girly girl, maybe leaning a bit more on the tomboyish side, though I never refused to wear a skirt. And I have several boxes of action figures (Mainly star wars), and all the dolls I got from my relatives instead of the action figures or toy motorcycles I got were put into roleplaying battles.

I play RPGs and MMORPGs and I play the Ocarina.

And now my mom is kicking me off the computer so i can go buy costumes for the three characters I'm playing in a homeschool play: The Tempest (by shakespeare). Where I play Gonzolo, Trinculo, and Ceres.

Bye!

Michiyo-chan

Introduction.

If the person i'm going to ask to work on this blog with me doesn't accept... well... then I have no clue what to do. Because right now, the blog means 'Michiyo and Kisa'.

Sorry my nickname comes first.

But in any case, I'm hoping to have this dedicated to Anime, Manga, and Japanese things, recording our events as we strive to be the best Otaku we can be in an American city with a motto to keep things weird.

And no, our names are not really Michiyo or Kisa, no matter how much we wish they were.

Blog is, at this moment, still under construction, so don't expect too much until we get a decent template and stuff.
